  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangos, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh habanero pepper, seeded and chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mangos by peeling and dicing them into small cubes.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and then minced garlic. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped habanero pepper and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced mango and cook for an additional 5 minutes until softened.
  5. Pour in honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Puree the sauce with an immersion blender or regular blender until smooth.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Cool completely before transferring to a jar or container for storage.
