Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cut chicken and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Coat the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg, and finally roll in the breadcrumbs.
- Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with olive oil. Arrange the chicken bites in a single layer and air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
- Meanwhile, whisk BBQ sauce and honey in a small bowl.
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken bites to a bowl, pour the sauce over them, and toss gently.
- Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or part of a meal.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by varying the amount of honey and feel free to experiment with different BBQ sauces.
